Part of our Essentials Aggregates range, Bedding Clean Limestone (6mm) is a fine, washed limestone aggregate in pale grey and cream tones, specifically graded and cleaned to remove dust and fines, giving a neat, consistent finish across every load. This washing process makes it a genuinely clean, reliable material, well suited to applications where clogging or contamination from finer particles needs to be avoided.
Its small, consistent grade makes it a popular choice for drainage applications, where its clean, dust-free composition allows water to pass through freely and efficiently, reducing the risk of blockages or reduced flow over time. It’s particularly well suited to pipe bedding, providing a stable, supportive base that surrounds pipework evenly while maintaining good drainage around the pipe itself, helping to protect it from movement or damage once backfilled.
In block paving construction, this 6mm limestone is commonly used as a bedding layer laid above 14mm Clean Chipping and beneath the paving blocks themselves, providing a level, well-drained surface for blocks to be laid onto and helping to lock them securely in place once compacted.
