Chard Flint is a warm, angular 14–20mm crushed flint aggregate blending buff, honey, and tan tones with creams, soft browns, and occasional grey flint pieces. Sandy when dry and richer when wet, it’s perfect for driveways, paths, and borders. Hard-wearing, free-draining, and available in bulk bags or large packs.

Description

This characterful 14–20mm crushed flint blends warm buffs, honey, and tan tones with creams, soft browns, and the occasional grey or blue-black flint piece, creating a beautifully varied surface full of natural interest. With its angular, crushed pieces, Chard Flint offers a slightly more rustic, textured look than rounded gravels, suiting both traditional and contemporary gardens with ease.
The angular flint pieces lock together well underfoot, making Chard Flint both attractive and practical. When dry, the mix offers warm, sandy tones; once wet, the colours deepen and richen, bringing out the full range of buffs, honeys, and browns, along with the distinctive character of the flint, for an even more striking finish. This warm, natural palette pairs beautifully with stone paving, brickwork, timber, and green planting.
Hard-wearing and dependable, Chard Flint is an excellent all-rounder. Use it to surface driveways, create firm pathways, dress borders and beds, or fill larger areas with a warm, low-maintenance finish. Because the angular pieces knit together and resist movement, it’s a particularly good choice for driveways and well-used paths, as well as decorative borders and feature areas.
As well as looking great, this aggregate is low-maintenance and free-draining, helping to suppress weeds and keep surfaces neat throughout the year. The larger 14–20mm size gives excellent ground coverage and a satisfying underfoot crunch that adds a subtle layer of security around the home.
