COVID Update

COVID-19 update 5th November 2020

Following the government’s announcement that England will enter into another lockdown from Thursday this week, we continue to assess all information and guidance that is available, so we can make the best operational decisions.

Current guidance is that manufacturing, builders merchants & garden centres will be able to REMAIN OPEN and unless otherwise instructed we will continue to do so, operating safely & securely with Covid – secure procedures in place.

Our number one priority is minimising the risk of transmitting the virus and ensuring the safety of our staff, customers & suppliers.

To help us achieve this & to continue to remain open, we require ALL customers visiting our branches to wear face coverings & adhere to social distancing and one-way systems in place.

 

Showing symptoms? 

Firstly, we love interacting with you all.  It’s our favourite part of our jobs but we know this isn’t the best way of keeping the virus at bay.

So please, if you are experiencing one or more of the known symptoms of Coronavirus:

Do not visit us and instead seek immediate medical advice.

 

Otherwise, we would love to continue helping you with your projects.

Please be assured that we are taking great care to ensure that we are following current government guidelines to minimise any risk to our employees and customers. We would also appreciate if you follow our sites procedures when visiting our branches...HANDS, FACE, SPACE.

Please advise our office as soon as possible, if you, one of your staff or visitors which have been onsite recently, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or are isolating due to suspected COVID-19. Everybody plays a vital role in maintaining maximum safety.

Are you operating normal hours? 

We are operating at our normal opening hours during the week, with reduced weekend hours, please go to Our Locations www.bowlandstone.com/our-locations/ to see what these hours are. 

Can I still order items for delivery? 

We would encourage all of you to have your materials delivered where you can. Different types of vehicles are available for you and orders can be placed over the phone and enquiries made online, or via email.

If you are expecting a delivery from us, we respectfully ask that you maintain the recommended 2m distance from our driver at all times and that you ensure the delivery area is free and clear for the goods to be offloaded.

In the instances when you need materials quicker than we can deliver them to you, you can collect them from our branches, AND ASK THAT YOU ADHERE TO OUR NEW COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES WHILST ON SITE (PLEASE SEE BELOW).

When on site, please park in designated car park provided (if full you will need to wait until someone leaves – do not park vehicles in yard). If you require our staff to load your vehicle please maintain 2m distance at all times. 

What safety measures are in place at the branches? 

When visiting our branches, you will notice some operational changes. We have put additional signage in our yards and on our sales counters that will advise you of our new working practices, including one-way entry and exit and on what you can do to help keep everyone as safe as possible. In line with government guidelines all visitors to our internal showrooms and sales offices will be required to wear a face covering.

From 24th September, it will be compulsory for retail, leisure and hospitality staff to wear a face covering in all areas that are open to the public and where they come or are likely to come within close contact of a member of the public.  Please note whilst behind the trade counter and screens, we have been advised our staff are not required to wear face coverings. 

In our shops, we have marked our floors at 2m intervals to help you stay safe while waiting to be served. You can still browse while maintaining the required distance from others.

Our sales counters have also changed. To keep you and our staff safe, we have erected Perspex screens and as we have all been asked to clean our hands frequently, sanitisers will also be available. 

For credit account customers, we will be booking materials out to you as usual by asking you to sign. For our pay as you go customers, we are asking where possible for card payments.Contactless would be even better especially as the limit on contactless payments has been raised to £45.

During this challenging time, we are continuing to see an increase in customer enquiries and our team are working extremely hard to maintain our excellent service as much as possible. Please be patient if orders, collections or refunds are delayed. 

What product can I buy? 

At this stage there are no restrictions placed on what items you can buy; however, we are experiencing some supply issues on a lot of products such as, paving, natural stone, timber, fence panels, concrete posts & gravel boards and multifinish plaster to name a few, so please do check before assuming products are in stock.
